General
A member of the AIFV (Armored Infantry Fighting Vehicle) family, developed by the then FMC Corporation as a private venture during the late 1960s, the YPR-765 is an IFV acquired by the Royal Netherlands Army in 1975. Essentially a product improved M113A1, the YPR-765 series - as with all AIFVs - has improved steel and aluminum laminate armour, stronger automotive performance, and superior armament compared to other members of the M113 family. The modeled version is the basic YPR-765A1 pri (pantser-rups-infanterie) armed with a Oerlikon Contraves 25mm KBA-B02 cannon and a coaxial 7.62mm FN MAG-58 in a one-man power turret. Unlike many other M113 modifications, the base YPR series is amphibious, but many aftermarket armour upgrades remove the capability. Produced in large numbers, AIFV family is in use by several nations, and although no longer in Dutch or Belgian service, may be found throughout Indochina and the Middle-East, particularly Turkey and Egypt. Additionally, South Korea and Pakistan utilize indigenous modifications to the M113 which closely mirror the AIFV series, and can be simulated using the YPR-765 pri.50.
The YPR-765 pri carries 7 dismounts, equipped with 2 M136 (AT-4) anti-armour weapons, a MG3 and 5,56mm rifles.
(Note: Due to this vehicle's early implementation in Steel Beasts Professional, versions prior to 3.002 will have this vehicle armed with a Rh202 20mm autocannon, rather than the 25mm.)
