It's probably known already that there can be non-combatants in scenarios for SB Pro PE 3.0. More specifically, there can be cars and pedestrians. The fundamental problem with either is that the established method of scripting individual units is entirely impractical.

We solved the issue with source and drain zones, and assigned clone actor pools. The clones will appear in the source and automatically move to the drain, then being returned to the pool of actors (think of "extras" in a movie set who may receive different costumes and will just create the impression of a busy street with no talking role). So, to create a busy village you simply create a region around it, declare it to be both the source and its own drain, set the number of characters that you want to see simultaneously, and you will see them appear and wander from one random spot to another in the village.

Of course you can have multiple drain zones for each source, and you can set conditions when to start and when to stop spawning the clone actors.

In order to randomize the pedestrians, there's an option to create all of them with three or four mouse clicks, and then reference them all or just a part in the assigned clone actor pool (e.g. you want to spawn five out of a group of ten). All in all I think that this is quite comfortable to handle.

Erhm, sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, but I just came to think of.....this comming upgrade can be downloaded and implemented in the previous version as usual, right? I mean, being the owner of the 2.654, I won't have to order a complete new cd and everything, will I?

No, not unless you want a disc to sit on a shelf somewhere.

You'd just need to buy the upgrade as a download.

Who is Gordon McIvor ?

Gordon McIvor > Sunday Driver.

Sunday Driver. (Noun)

An annoyingly slow and careless driver, (usually an old person, but not always) who is typically out for a leisurely Sunday drive.

i.e. going 25 mph in a 45 mph zone

Another Definition.

A motorist who engages in any number of dilatory driving techniques that recklessly slow down traffic, including but not limited to: driving below the speed limit, slowing down more than once on a city block while looking for a parking spot, waiting for a pedestrian to finish traversing the entire walkway before turning, or remaining stopped after a light turns green. Sunday drivers often claim to be driving defensively but in fact their driving is offensive and agitates normal commuters.

The only type of driver when, on a road march with tanks, it is acceptable to summarily crush their vehicle if your tank is going faster than they are when driving along the main highway.

Yeahhhhhhhhhhh civilians :)

Do civies automatically run for cover when under fire? And is there a way to count total civies casualties?

If they civvies are dumb enough to be out on the street in a tank battle, they deserve what they get.:diable:
