Scrapper_511
Forgive me if this isn't a new feature, but I just noticed the fully functional and animated trim vanes here: Very nice!

Guest theGUNSLINGER
if im correct its used for swimming with your tank so it doesnt flood
Gibsonm
what and where are Trim Vanes? They are used to provide a "false bow" for amphib vehicles to improve their displacement and divert the bow wave and ensure the water doesn't flood engine compartments or driver's hatches or ....I believe ASLAV, BMP 1 and BMP 2 have "working" trim vanes whilst M113 have them on the model but not "working".No doubt there are others too.Usually they are on the front of the vehicle.Tanks (apart from PT-76) tend not to have trim vanes as they don't swim but rather ford. Captain_Colossus
BTR-80 also has a bow plane, I don't recall seeing it deploy, it's more or less a texture. BRDM-2 physically has it in the 3D model, not sure if it moves.

Captain_Colossus
That is the Terrasim Afghanistan map, I applied a theme (I don't remember which) to change the look a bit.
DemolitionMan
Here you can see how the trim vane is deployed in real life. Also note the sight extension for the BMP driver.
SeanPatrick
So...the same problem I had here, I am having now but in reverse: I'm in a T-72, I see an Abrams coming over a small rise. He sees me. We face each other and he doesn't fire. I fire to no effect and just then see another Abrams pulling up alongside the first. (At this point I'm a wee bit worried. ) Same deal. I fire on both 'til they're dead. Checked the scenario: all red tanks (Abrams) fully loaded and on engage routes w/ fire at will tactics. Surely the Abrams could depress it's tube enough to hit me, right? Screens and sce attached: Tanks ProPe (T-72x3).zip

oscar19681
would it be possible to connect a normal pc to such a screen?
ARM505
If a laptop can do it, so can a normal pc.
Alicatt
For that one all it takes is a HDMI out from the PC/laptop, I have to use a Displayport adapter to HDMI converter to get the pic on the screen. It would be much easier to use my PC as it has HDMI out on it.I was duplicating the laptop screen which is 1280x800 but it won't display SB on the screen at that resolution, so I had to run SB windowed. If I turn off the laptop screen it will let me go upto 1920x1080 on the screen, and display SB full screen.
