Captain_Colossus
There's a Russian winter white camo pattern- that was the basis for what I used. I took one of the few bare hands out of one of the files that renders faces and hands and pasted into others when I didn't want the troops to wear gloves. You can do the same thing with the helmet textures. That way it's possible to mix and match to create more troop types.

Captain_Colossus
In the meantime, there's still what I suggest: go to your C: directory where the camo skins live (in your textures folder), look in there and see what you like. I chose the Russian winter camo pattern because it's white, essentially a blank canvas. I can paint external equipment any color I want, I could swap faces, helmets, hands. This worked for Iraqi skins, I could see this working for GDR/NVA troops as well. I think it's a great basis for a lot of uniforms because unlike many of the others, there's no knee pads, the equipment straps are narrow, there's no large vest.
cata
Yes I have seen that thanks, but I think to get this right we really need the template, lots of other stuff to be working on in the meantime.
NickMow
The troop skins a fairly easy to work with. Not sure an actual multi layered template is actually needed to mod them. Would be happy to see one that would perhaps separate the equipment/vests. Colossus which one has bare hands, I bin lookin but can't seem to find it. Edit: might have a go at making a template myself
Captain_Colossus
There's a few representing sub-Saharan Africa, but if you want 'Caucasian' hands, look in camo --> desert --> ru. You can copy those hands and copy them into any other 'face2' file.
