Someone else who lives here hit the dongle while it was still plugged in and took it out onto the desk. I plugged it in to play some SB and didn't work. I took the case apart to find the connecters all shattered so I used some super glue and was able to play an online session. But now it won't work so I need a new dongle.

So give me address and money I got to pay to the order of......

I think I may have uh... "misplaced" my CM stick while moving to a new house. Am I to infer from the above comment that I'm screwed? I don't think I can justify buying the game again at such a price. Don't get me wrong, I love SB Pro PE. But I mean, is the dongle really necessary for the private user? I know there's the whole piracy issue...but isn't this kind of a specialized market? Perhaps an option could be added to disable the CM stick requirement after an initial verification? I've been making due with SB1 (believe it or not) and some DCS Black Shark but...I want my Pro PE back!

BTW: During the move I found my original SB1 box! My father gave it to me ages ago. I had to laugh at the listed features:

"-The Leopard 2A4 and M1A1, both modeled in 'high detail.'"...

(C'mon...the treads don't even move!)

"-A tank commander's position that is actually useful."

(I take it previous tank sims were less so? Lol.)

"-Infantry, Artillery, Mine fields, Smoke and [OMG!] BUILDINGS!!"

(Emphasis added :) )

PC Gamer said: "Heck, it may be the best tank sim ever."

...Uh..."MAY!?!"

Ahhh...memories...

Not without that other stick being located, and eventually remotely disabled on your request by Wibu Systems (how else would it be possible to determine theft/real loss from a fraudulent claim of loss?)

I recognize your predicament. I know it sucks. There may be an option in the future for SB Pro PE users as an alternative to the CM stick - reducing your flexibility, but limiting the loss risk at the same time. I can't say however when we will make it happen, probably with the next release. We still need to figure out a few issues, so I can't go into details yet.

(cough) You may want to check out (cough) "CodeMeter ACT" (cough) on Wibu's web site, though. (cough)

Haha okay, I get it now. Sorry, I'm a little slow. Check it out: I tried to order CM ACT thinking it might be a work-around or something. I mean it said "free" so why not? Then I get a call (and email) from a confused WIBU tech. We exchange emails and he informs me that of course that won't work. :)

After re-reading your post it makes perfect sense. ...Duh

No, I haven't. SB1 was the first tank sim I'd ever seen. Apart from Tank for the Atari hahaha!

When I was younger (I'm only 32 now) we couldn't afford a PC. It wasn't until my father gave me an old laptop and a bunch of his old PC games that I got to play any kind of sim. Since then I've been hooked. I have FSX and DCS Black Shark now. (And of course SB1 & Pro PE.)

The more realistic the sim, the more I like it.
