Rationale for Military Acquisition

I am currently working in the British Army’s 4 star HQ in the Eqpt branch and as part of some of the work that is being looked at in preparation for the UKs Strategic Defence and Security Review (SDSR) we have been asked to look at the balance between live and simulated training.

Having been a member of this forum for some time I am aware that a number of other nations have already procured Esim’s services to provide a simulation capability to either compliment or substitute field training.

Clearly spend to save options are not the flavour of the month at the moment but we have been requested to keep all thought, options, good ideas in scope.

I would therefore be grateful if any users from the those nations who use SB Pro in the military environment could get in contact and if able talk through the rationale and trade offs made between field and simulated training in order to justify and hence secure funding to implement such a system within their Armd Force.

With thanks is advance,

Work email is LF-Eqpt-PlansFuture@mod.uk

Regards

Charlie B
