dpabrams
I have a new PC running Windows 7 Professional 64 Bit. I have tryed to install SB Pro PE a couple of times but I find the whole process tedious, complicated and overwhelming. There are so many patches and so many versions of the sim, I don't know where to start. I have two disks for the sim, one from 2007, when I first purchased it and the 2010 version I purchased with the upgrade. Sure I can get the sim installed but then the dongle trouble begins. I can't tell what version of SB Pro PE I have because of the dongle errors.Logically I install the 2007 disk and then the dongle software but the dongle errors start, I go through the steps to troubleshoot, but I see no recommendations for Windows 7 64 bit specifically, so a no go.I used to love this sim, I used to make mods but this is getting old. Is there a step by step installation guide for a guy in my situation? You have to be hardcore to play this sim and even harder to install it.
Administrators Sean Posted June 25, 2011 Administrators Share Posted June 25, 2011 See the FAQ: http://www.steelbeasts.com/sbforums/announcement.php?f=6» Install 2.538.» Apply 2.552 to this install. The latest codemeter runtime can be found here:http://codemeter.com/us/service/downloads.htmlGet the 64 bit driver. Uninstall the old driver first, reboot, then install the new 64 bit driver. If you could post the error messages, we might be able to help you more with the codemeter stick. If we can't figure it out, codemeter support is pretty good about figuring out what's wrong.
dpabrams
Sean,Appreciate the quick reply. The confusion was that I was loading the first disk of Pro PE that a purchased in 2007 likely a 2.2 or 2.3 version and adding versions on top of that. All I had to do was install the 2010 disk I have that is the v2.538 Upgrade and the Codemeter 4.20 version and what do you know, I am up and running. Thanks,Pete
Tacbat
...and even harder to install it.You were saying?
dpabrams
You were saying?I over complicated the installation. Man she runs fast and like a charm on the new machine. The FPS in never less than 50. Got all the mod's installed, mine of course and a few others. Got a real USB Combatstick! Man this sim rocks, even after 5 years. Good to be back.

cwhw1974
Hi Yesterday I installed my SBPE again after getting myself a new PC. Since I knew it was an old Version I also bought the 2.538-Upgrade from the Shop. Buts the Installation of the new license went wrong, since then the Codemeter Software doesnt even recognize the Dongle anymore. Is there a chance of rescue or do I have to buy the whole Software again? CM-Dust.txt
Gibsonm
Well the guys are a bit easy getting the next update out the door, but I suspect someone will be along in a minute. If you don't mind me asking, why did you buy the 2.538 update with 2.6x just around the corner?
cwhw1974
Didnt realize that 2.6 is with costs...Sry, but my English isnt that good, I'm no native speaker...
Gibsonm
Well 2.538 cost you US$25 but came out some time ago (August last year).2.6x will also cost US$25 and includes everything in 2.538 plus all the new stuff spoken about recently. So if you had bought 2.6x in the next day or so you would have got all the updates for one cost of US$25, instead of buying 2.538 to "catch up" to August 2010 and then buying 2.6x to "catch up" to now.If you really did buy it "yesterday" then maybe eSim will offer you something but I can't promise anything on their behalf.
cwhw1974
I'd be glad if we could negotiate something bout 2.6, but at first I need my Stick working again...Wrote a Support-Ticket to Codemeter as well, hope someone get that thing working again.
Members Ssnake
Didnt realize that 2.6 is with costs...Sry, but my English isnt that good, I'm no native speaker...Du kannst mich jederzeit in Deutsch kontaktieren über meinen Forumsnamen hier @eSimGames.comDa Du ja CodeMeter schon kontaktiert hast, ist es wohl am Besten, abzuwarten was die herausfinden. Ggf. organisieren wir dann einen Austausch.

Mower
Hmm, same issues, just d/l the latest version but my dongle was for an earler version...so I guess I need to buy the latest version before the dongle will work or a new dongle sent to me after I purchase?A shame as I cannot buy anything online for a while, credit issues.
Members Ssnake
No new dongle will be sent unless you order a new $100.- copy. The upgrade will just generate a second email with a URL containing a ticket for a license upgrade. Follow the link (with Java (which is NOT JavaScript!) or ActiveX enabled), click on the "Activate" button with the CodeMeter stick plugged in, and a few seconds later the license is on your stick.
FlashPan
Looks like my return to Steel Beasts has been cut short...From this morning my dongle has stopped working. Nothing has changed on my system, since yesterday when it was working. The dongle when plugged in seems to do nothing. When it worked it used to flash green briefly, but this is no longer the case. I know the USB port is working as I use my Cubase dongle in there and that works fine.I have run CMDust. It indicates nothing out of the ordinary other than the fact that it reports there are zero devices connected. What's the next step now?ThanksRobPhttp://AncientArmies.co.uk
Tacbat
Did you try a different USB port?
CalAB
I have run CMDust. It indicates nothing out of the ordinary other than the fact that it reports there are zero devices connected.I have been through the same problem more or less. Have you recently upgraded the firmware on the stick? I have an older stick and when I upgraded the firmware it apparently terminated the device. Go to eSim's website, support, contact eSim, and in the window provided list all of the problems you are experiencing and take it from there.
FlashPan
Did you try a different USB port? Yes I've tried three ports - it fails on all three RobP http://AncientArmies.co.uk

lavictoireestlavie
I am having a problem with my cm stick as well. When i plug the CM stick unto a USB port and want to run steel beasts i get the following error massage: CodeMeter error: Please ensure your your CM stick is securely in a USB port. The CM stick does light up green for a few seconds then flashes green and red and then it turns off. Could it be that my CM stick is broken? I ran it the previous night without any problems. My Specs: Windows 7 (64 Bit) 8 GB RAM i5 2500k CPU GTX 560 TI FPB The previous night with 4 GB of RAM the machine was able to run Steel Beasts Pro PE 2.640 at around 60 FPS with this configuration. The frame rate dropped down to 40 FPS in some tank interiors thou, which is still leaps and bounds better than my previous setup performance. I would appreciate any feedback. Thank You !
Members Ssnake
Flashing a few times before going dark is rather normal. It's different if the stick continues to blink in a repeating pattern. The question is whether you have the right license installed. Could it be that you try to run version 2.640 without having bought and/or installed a license for SB Pro PE 2.6?Check the WebAdmin, tab "Content | Licenses", section 100146 - eSim Games.
lavictoireestlavie
Yes, I bought a license for it . I am just surprised that it gave me issues like that. I plugged the meter into my laptop that also has Steel Beast (2.640) on it and it worked. I tried the dongle on my pc again, it was recognized and this time it worked again somehow. Sadly, after trying to select the terrasim map my pc froze up and would not load Windows again. I can not even get to the BIOS, the fans spin up but all i get is a black screen. This is rather weird:decu: Did my motherboard, an ASrock Z68 Pr03, just die on me?
