Strv 122 Peri Cover

It looks like a bug. The Str122 recently got the new roof model, and it may not have been correctly linked at that time?

The command to close is available - the hand is active over the flap area, but even with the PERI in override mode, the flap doesn't respond to a click.

It used to be using the 2A5DK roof file which lacks the armoured flap.

The visuals look the same as the correctly functioning 2E.

Thanks for the info and looking into it GH Lieste.

I’ve since noticed a couple of other small things that might be associated to the recent updated roof model for the Strv 122. These things are more cosmetic in nature and aren’t a big deal at all. I haven’t been able to find any reference to them here so I’d figured I’d post them… It appears the Strv 122 in SB more or less uses the same roof and main body model as the Leopardo 2E with some exceptions… Some minor things that render fine on the 2E, only seem to partially render on the Strv…

The first attached JPEG shows the unbuttoned view of the 2E. There you can see the “Laserchutzfilter” placards under each viewing block. The next Jpeg show the same view from the Strv. The placards aren’t there; however there’s a shadow in their place leading one to believe they’re intended to be rendered there…

Next, I’ve noticed that when buttoned up in the TC spot, the rear viewing block’s view tends to be blocked most of the time by what I’m guessing to be the rendering of the turret. This is also present on the 2E; however, not to anywhere near the same extent…

Last, from the unbuttoned TC position viewing to the rear on the 2E, the model renders the “Ball on a stick” (for lack of a better description) and a 3D portion of the body on the left side (opposite the shovels). Whereas on the Strv, that 3D portion is missing leaving a black spot in it’s place, and the “ball” also isn’t rendered. The “Ball” also doesn’t render on either of the tanks in the external view…

Again, really not a big deal… Just figured I’d mention it in the event someone decides to work on the model…

I’ll try to change the name of this thread to “Strv 122, recently updated model – minor bugs” or something like that in the event someone else searches for a similar topic…

Didn't I read somewhere in the forums that the Strv doesn't have the storage box that the Leo has?

Oh...found it here:

The TC's rear cupola vision block turns black because the TC's hatch is open. The hatch obstructs the vision block when it is open; when you close it you will be able to see through it again. In other words, it is attention to detail (a feature, not a bug). Well, that is true unless: 1) the hatch is open and it is still black OR 2) the hatch is open and you can see through the rear vision block --in which case either of those would be a problem.

Yes, I get where you're coming from. When the TC cupola is unbuttoned you cannot see through the rear vision block in both the Strv and the 2E; however, thats not what I was making reference to. "I’ve noticed that when buttoned up (closed) in the TC spot, the rear viewing block’s view tends to be blocked most of the time by what I’m guessing to be the rendering of the turret. As shown in the JPEG 3rd from the top attached to the original post.

Again, as indicated above, not a big deal, not make or break for me. just mentioning it as I haven't seen it mentioned here yet, and in the event eSim continues work on that model, maybe have look at the above mentioned things...

on the real vehicle, the huge hatch blocks the view, when its open. there's a hole in the rear portion of the hatch which you can only see through when the hatch is completely closed. this is a somewhat messy implementation of that.

the strv 122 does not have a ball on stick, and no APU, which i found out after i had completed the original exterior model, but before i finished the interior model. i updated the mesh and texture, but i think i forgot to send it :S. oh well, i sent it off now.

maybe it'll make it into the next update.

it does not have those laserschutzenfilter warning labels either, thats unique to the leopardo, and those black labels there is a bug.

there's however some real nasties in there, like the untextured AK-5 and the faceted handlebars for the TC.

Conserning the peri 17, is there any TC's strange behaviour with it?

I mean, during MP games, I've already seen the TC turning off the switch of he's peri.

I always used to reset the switch in the correct position with modern Leopard versions, like STRV 122 and Leopardo 2E.

But in the Leopard 2A5DK, the switch is not clickable

Is that normal or is it an unexpected behaviour?

That evening, we played with Leo 2A5DK and both Froggy and I had our peri locked, turn by turn, during different sessions of the same scenario (Excalibur).

I guessed that it was what I said above, but I have doubts, can anyone confirm it or not?

Thank you Eisenschwein, unfortunately, that don't work at all...

Sometime the Peri-17 comes back after a while, but without any clear reason.

That afternoon, I had again the peri locked and I can summup what happened before:

I worked with Froggy in two sections of two tanks.

My wingman stopped to advance to reload during my progress.

I came into the driver seat of that tank and came back in formation, in a protected area.

I linked the tank by the context menu.

Back in my original tank, the peri was out of control, locked in 6 o'clock position.

A strange thing is that for Froggy, the peri was locked 12 o'clock...

PS: The two last pictures are from Froggy's view, I gave him control of the tank to check it out.

There are only 3 chances to lock the PERI to the gunners view or the Position it is in the Moment.

1) Switch to "Beobachten"

2) Switch to "Indexpos"

3) Override

If there is no Prob with your Key settings, the fault must be one of this.

In your first Picture, you are locked to "Indexpos"

attachment.php?attachmentid=7657&stc=1&thumb=1&d=1261412694

So, this small Knob have 3 Positions, difficult to see, and you have to leave it in "12" position, then click in the Monitor. Thats how it works on my Machine.... ?

Sorry, but it's not the case in the photo, when you lock the peri to 6/12 o'clock, the little red light show you that you are locked.

Usually I don't use the indexpos, because I'm more focused on spotting targets rather than driving correctly the tank with a meter precision.

I put that in the forum because I really tested every possibilities. :(

A possibility could be that my SB installation is corrupted but it ran quite perfectly till now.

I just wanted to see if anybody else had that.
