MOAMarksman
Would the community here consider it unethical to upload a skin altered from other authors’ works? As mentioned in the “Skins, How?” thread, using available downloads and putting parts of them together, I’ve tried to work out 2A6M CAN skin for the 2E. I take NO CREDIT for the work at all. My intentions for the combination of works were merely for my enjoyment alone; and it took little effort to combine the fine work of others into something I really enjoy. I was just thinking, should someone out there want a similar skin without going through the process of either making it from scratch, or going through motions of combining downloadable works for their use...I used the Leo2A6 Bundeswehr put together by FRiTZ, the Canadian Leo 2A5 put together by Boomer, and the English Leo2 Internal Panels by Alan323. I didn’t have any of the authors permission to alter or combine the works. Nor did I create any original work of my own for the skin. I would only upload this skin: 1 – with the blessing of the community here and the original authors. And 2- With giving the original authors full credit in the description narrative for their work. Thanks,MOA
Nasder
If it's done with the permission of those whoms work you've used. I don't see how it can be called unethical. But without the permission from those who made the originals, I would call it unetichal. So ask for permission to post it. If you don't get permission from them, then don't post it. If you get permission to post it then post it.I think the majority here is against theft of work. Using items without permission to do so. So just ask for permission and I'm sure some will say yes and some may say no. Then you can compensate some and work on it from there.
Tacbat
One a skin has been uploaded, it's in the public domain. So, if you're going to make a few changes to it, and upload something new, just give credit to the original artist, and all should be well.

Thanks,MOANice composite just one small critique, if you mess with the gun tube a little you can lessen the obvious mirroring that was used on the outer portion. Again nice job to all the artist that were responsible.Congo
MOAMarksman
Great input Congo. I'll mess around with the gun tube today and hope to have an updated version by tomorrow. Just noticed, I also need to fix the leaf on the left side. When I applied the layer, it seems to have taken on a shine effect from PS. I should also smooth out my cut and paste labeling on the TIM... Edited June 4, 2009 by MOAMarksman

congo
I'll do my best. Brand new to PhotoShop so this should be fun...LOL.Just remember Layers palette is your friend. Use for everything from details to add wear and tear. Try out your ideas on different layers so mistakes are easily corrected just remember you will have to merge layers and save in the dds format for use in the sim. Work with psd file so you can maintain layer structures. Edited June 5, 2009 by congo
