Koen
Attached you will find an excel-database with the maximum driving time and maximum range for various vehicles with a full fuel tank. Additionnaly I calculated what is the maximum driving time and maximum range if the fuel tank set at 10 % (you can change this % in cell J2 to alter the calculation). This could be helpful for scenariodesigners, e.g. to set up a scenario where refuelling would be necessary. All calculations are somewhat approximatively of course, as vehicles seem to slow down when they're running out of fuel. Vehicles with different speeds can drive for a longer (slow speed) or shorter (top speed) time - e.g. Strc 122 - but seem to end up at the same maximum range. So speed has no impact on the rate of fuelconsumption. -- Version: 2.460 -- the RAR contains the excel-file and the testscenario -- the GIF below is incomplete, but gives you the idea. And 2 questions: 1) Strange is how the maximum range of Leo 2A5, Leo 2E and Strv 122 seems to be limited to+/- 131 KM, which is hugely inferior compared to other tanks. Would this be correct ? 2) A bit strange as well is that for most tanks and also AS-LAV and M2A2, the turrets are often pointed rearwards when you jump into them. If this means that the AIgunner is also looking rearward, than this may not be the best behaviour and negatively influence the realism of the sim. Anyone has input about this ? Homer
If you drive backwards, you can actually gain fuel unless that got fixed in the last patch.
Tacbat
LOL, too bad that didn't work IRL.

Would this be correct ?No, I must confess that I am a bit surprised. 300 to 500km would appear more correct. We will have to look into that.2) A bit strange as well is that for most tanks and also AS-LAV and M2A2, the turrets are often pointed rearwards when you jump into them.Maybe they are reloading the 25mm gun system?
Koen
Maybe they are reloading the 25mm gun system?Doubtful: not a single shot is fired in this mission - cfr. attached RAR.It also concerns most tanks (almost all of them are in the mission) + AS-LAV & M2A2 => does M1A1 or T-72/80 have to point rearwards for reloading the 25mm gun system ?Rgds - K

If a TC is really bored he'll get the loader to fill it while the vehicle is halted. The M1A1 and T72/T80 need not traverse the turret for reloading within SB, but most other vehicles do.The gun can get left over the rear deck by lots of manoeuvring especially where the stabilisation is being switched in and out, for certain vehicles in the platoon this is their covered arc, and a suspected threat can be covered to the exclusion of all else (which is less good).

We will have to look into that.Don't mean to be a pain in the a$$... But has there been any news on this? I could be wrong but I seem to be able to burn through the Leopard's tanks pretty quickly in the latest sim upgrade... Extremely pleased overall with the latest upgrade, just wondering if the fuel consumption is where it should be for the leopard 2...
