Burning vehicles

In creating scenarios, I wanted to have vehicles destroyed and burning when starting a mission.  In using 'options' by clicking on the choice vehicles, they are indeed destroyed but not on fire.  I tested the Burned option, still no smoke and fire during the missions.  

 

Am I the only SB Treadhead, playing this for nearly 25 years, who doesn't know how to do this? 

Or, is there no option to do that to begin with?

 

If not, could this be implemented in editor if enough people care about it?

As I understand it, it doesn't work. You can destroy vehicles, and get vehicles slightly sooty to charred with the burned option.

 

If you want the vehicles (and houses) destroyed and burning, place the desired amount of vehicles in the editor in a new scenario on the side(s) that the vehicle(s) belongs to. Start the scenario, shoot at the vehicles (and/or buildings) until they burn and save as "in progress save" and make that the save you work on further in the scenario.

 

Keep in mind that elapsed time is also saved, for example if the scenario is supposed to start at 07:00am and it takes 10 minutes to manually destroy the vehicles untill you "in progress save", your scenario will be saved at 07:10am. Can you load the scenario and move the time back from 07.10 to 07.00....maybe?

Otherwise, destroy the vehicles at an earlier time and advance the time to the desired start time in the scenario.

I'm a bit unsure here.

Yhea, I think it would be nice to have "Exploded", "Burning", and "Smoking" options for destroyed vehicles, in addition to the "Burned" slider.

 

The slider does indeed work, but note that they really do mean "Burned" in past tense. 

When you start the mission, all the burning is already done.

 

So I guess really these should be wishlist items.  The ability to have a destroyed vehicle set up so it starts the mission with the turret popped, actively on fire, or emitting black smoke.
