Shots's attaking against T-72 ? xD xDxD

Shot Cal vs. T-72 was a very likely scenario during the '80s and '90s.

The vast majority of over 1,000 IDF Centurion MBTs were allocated to Northern Command units, designated to fight the Syrian army in the Golan Heights in a case of war. Decommissioning started in the mid-'80s, as more Merkavas were available, but the Shot Cal had been kept in active-service units until 1992 and in reserve units until 2003.

On the Syrian side, the T-72 was introduced in the late '70s and by the early '90s they had over 1,500, including hundreds of T-72A tanks from Soviet army stocks (while all other Soviet allies, including WP countries, were supplied only with monkey models).

An actual engagement almost took place during the 1982 war in Lebanon. Syrian 3rd armored division T-72s were deployed to the Beqa'a Valley on June 11th, shortly before the ceasefire at noon that day. An Israeli Centurion company (Shot Cal Bet, reservists) aimed its guns at a Syrian T-72 battalion that was advancing SW on the road between Sa'alouk and Ammick, from 2,500 meters away, but was ordered to hold its fire. Instead, the IDF let the T-72s come closer, into a TOW missile ambush, minutes before the ceasefire. Following the one-sided battle, during which more than 10 Syrians tanks were destroyed, the closest T-72 wreck rested (in pieces) in no-man's-land only 800 meters from the frontline Israeli positions. The Syrians recovered it on the day after, not before Israeli SOF examined it at night.
