kef1989
I know exactly how you load heat rounds by pressing delete. The commander isn't calling for HEAT and I need to use it on PC's and IFV's. When I change to HEAT by pressing Delete, my rounds always fall short or go over the target. What elese am I missing to do? Thanks!
Tankleader
You need to use the rounds your TC announces unless you are playing TC, then your gunner uses the rounds you as TC select. So, if you are playing as gunner you need to select the rounds your AI TC announces. If you are playing a training scenario. Members Ssnake
I suspect you're in the M1 Abrams Gunner's position. A round falling way short usually means you have HEAT loaded but sabot indexed, so the gun position is not adjusted for the different muzzle velocities and other ballistic properties of your munition. With too little superelevation the round will fall short. Conversely, at long target distances, with HEAT indexed and Sabot loaded you'll shoot far, far over.

The Crew Commander can load a different round, but the Gunner (i.e. you pressed F6) needs to index it so the computer knows (in simple terms) what you are shooting.
Members Ssnake
IOW, only as a vehicle commander you get to choose the ammunition. As a gunner, you must do as told, even if it's a stupid computer that's telling you.

Members Ssnake
Sure. Depends on the vehicle concept.

Members Ssnake
Even a simple bass speaker mounted under a seat worked wonders to signal, "engine is running" (in one of our customers' simulator projects). So, yeah, I can imagine that it'll work well for a range of sim/racing/flight applications to boost immersion.

For Marder needs, you'd have to have something you attach this to: ....and make it impact in the shoulder /head area 😉 Edited 17 hours ago by Grenny
