MegahertzGB
I'm trying to use the map package installer, but every time I attempt to use it, it gives me this long error and prevents me from doing anything further. I did have some of the maps listed on the error log, but I deleted all of them and cannot find any trace of any of them on my computer, despite what the installer is telling me. Is there any way to fix this? I already uninstalled and reinstalled the game many times, but nothing changes. I'm using the 4.250 version, and the map package installer was obtained around 2021.

Did you use the Windows Setting Apps option or did you just delete the folder(s)? Is there an eSim Games Folder in C:\ProgramData\ (by default this is a hidden folder).

Yes, there is an eSim Games Folder in ProgramData.

Chapter 2, page 16 of the Manual talks about uninstalling: I suspect you have made life more difficult for yourself than it needed to be.
Solution MegahertzGB Posted November 12 Author Solution Share Posted November 12 So I looked through the "Add or remove programs" app and discovered that Steel beasts maps have their own "app". I assume this is leftover data from when I downloaded them before. Anyways, I deleted it and now the Map package installer works just fine. Thanks Gibson for the idea.
Members Ssnake
No, there is a separate installer for a reason. Map data change rarely, and make up the bulk of the data volume, so we split it from the program executable installer so you wouldn't have to download again and again whenever there's a new version or minor patch.

Well that would explain why reinstalling steel beasts didn't fix it. I already kinda understood this, but I didn't think manually deleting the map files wouldn't be enough to remove the data. My bad 😅 I'll give the manual a good read next time I run into an issue like this.
