Sitrep:
Just now, a report from an air sortie carried out over your sector came in with the emergency notice that there were a large number of enemy armoured vehicles spotted moving east to west and that they'd be in Wellner and Freiberg within the next 5 minutes. Armed with this information, you immediately informed by radio all of your units to prepare themselves for battle. Having not expected any action for the next 16 hours at least, our armour was in the middle of doing maintenance and resupplying in Ästenberg under the presumption that there was another company 15 kilometers to the front that would alert them to any contact, but due to a communication error somewhere along the line you were not informed that the company to your front had relocated to reinforce another battalion.

 

5 kilometers to the east, there's a reconnaissance company stationed in Flairien that was on rest until they recieved the same emergency transmission as yourself. They have been subordinated to you to aid in your defense.

 

Friendly communications assets are stationed currently in Mälschweig Factory at Ästenberg and are using both the large availability of power and its position in the center of the division's AO to transmit and recieve the communications for most of the division. You are to defend this valuable asset for as long as possible to allow the operators to either transport away or sabotage the equipment so that it cannot fall into enemy hands.

 

Recon Report:
"3-6 columns of enemy AFVs, 10 vehicles each moving west out of Erfurt to Freiberg and Wellner! Requires immediate action!"

 

Mission Objectives, RECON:
1. Identify enemy AFVs
2. Delay the enemy attack until the armour is ready and in position to defend
3. Inflict losses to the enemy via attrition and artillery

1. Defend Ästenberg for the duration of the mission to allow communications assets to escape west.

Mälscweig Factory - if any enemies come within 300m of the factory within the time of the mission, the mission fails. If there are no enemies that enter it within the mission, the mission is a success.
