Auszug aus dem Befehl des Kdr 294 / Excerpts of the Cdr's orders

1) Lage / Situation:
    a) Feind / Enemy:
        ROT im Angriff mit KPz und SPz in Divisionsstärke aus Norden. Vorderste Teile eines MotSchtzRgt  ca. 30 km nördlich VISSELHÖVEDE.
        Vermutliche Absicht: Nehmen der ostwärtigen Enge WALSRODE, um mit 2. DivStaffel weiter nach Süden anzutreten.
        Mit Aufklärungskräften voraus ist in Kürze zu rechnen.

        RED in attack with MBT and IFV in division strength from North. Leading elements of a MechInfRgt  roundabout 30 kms northward VISSELHÖVEDE.
        Probable intent: seizing eastward bottleneck WALSRODE to continue the attack with 2nd echelon to the South.
        With recon elements ahead is to be expected shortly.

 

    b) Eigene / Own:
        PzGrenBrig 30 im Eilaufmarsch, um sich im Raum BOMLITZ zur Verteidigung einzurichten.
        PzGrenBtl 294 im Schwerpunkt im Raum BOMLITZ eingesetzt.
        AufklBtl 10 überwacht zwischen SCHWITSCHEN und BEHNINGEN.

2) Auftrag / Mission:
        vstk PzGrenBtl 294 gewinnt und sichert mit ersten Kräften Stellungen Enge OTTINGEN,
        richtet sich mit PzGrenKpn in Linie BENEFELD - HASBERG zur Verteidigung ein.

        Reinf PzGrenBn 294 takes and secures with first forces positions bottleneck OTTINGEN,
        establishes defense with PzGrenCoys in the line BENEFELD - HASBERG.

 

3) Durchführung / Execution:
        Ich rechne damit, dass mindestens ein vstk BMP-Btl in 1. Staffel auf uns antritt.
        Ich plane daher das Btl mit vstkPzKp voraus, später BtlRes, und 3 PzGrenKp nebeneinander in der Verteidigung einzusetzen.
        Im Einzelnen:
        ...
        4./304:    - verstärkt mit einem PzGrenZg 3./294 (D1 u. D3 mit MILAN)
                - tritt nach Entladung sofort Sicherungskräften auf Stellung DELVENTHAL - ELMHORSTBERG - BEHNINGEN an und sichert nach Norden
                - hält Enge OTTBERGEN solange wie möglich,
                - zerschlägt Feindaufklärung und
                - verzögert nachstoßenden Feind;
                - nach Aufnahme BtlRes.

        I expect that at least one reinf BMP Bn in 1st echelon launch an attack to us.
        Therefore I plan to establish the Bn as follows: reinf TkCoy ahead, reserve later, and 3 PzGrenCoys side by side in defense.
        In detail:
        ...
        4th 304:    - reinforced with one PzGrenPlt 3rd 294 (D1 & D3 with MILAN)
                - moves and takes BP DELVENTHAL - ELMHORSTBERG - BEHNINGEN immediately with security forces after unloading.
                - holds bottleneck OTTINGEN as long as possible,
                - destroys enemy recce and
                - delays pursuing enemy
                - after rearward reserve of Bn
        ...

    a) Artillerie / FS:
        FUst von PzArtBtl 295 in ca. 1,5 Std verfügbar:
            1 Bttr mit 2 Zügen à 3 Rohre (HE, SMArt*, Nebel)
                * nur insgesamt 60 SMArt-Geschosse verfügbar
            während des Anmarsches nur 1 Zug verfügbar!
        MrsKp (2x3 Rohre) HE u. Nebel in ca. 1 Std verfügbar

        FS from PzArtBn 295 available in ca. 1.5 hrs:
            1 BTRY with 2 plt 3 tubes each (HE, SMArt*, Smoke)
                * only 60 SMArt shells in total available
            during the approach only 1 Plt available!
        MORT Coy (2x3 tubes) HE and Smoke available in ca. 1 hrs.

 

 b) Versorgung / Support:
        SanTrp und BergeTrp bei Kpn;
        MunTrp zugewiesen;
        TrVPl KrkHs BOMLITZ
        Anschlussversorgung frühestens in 1 Stunde
        VVD arbeitsbereit in ca. 1 Std (Reparatur von Schadgerät), dann KrKw, Bstf u. Mun abrufbereit (Auslöser)

        Medic and ARV at coys
        ammo teams attached
        BAS at hospital BOMLITZ
        Resupply not earlier than in 1 hrs
        CBT TNS available in ca. 1 hrs (damage repair), then medic, fueler and supply on call (triggers)
