Defence of Narva_31

Mission Summary : 

Short history:
Recent elections in Eesti have futher made it clear that their new Goverment is agaisnt Russian influence. They are planning of cancelling many of the contracts between countries and this has caused a rather agressive reaction from Russia. They are arranging a huge wargame basically next to Eesti border, massing their forces as show of their cababilities. This caused a huge concern in Eesti and Goverment is apparently unwilling at this time to futher provoke Russia and has chosen not to respond in kind.  Instead they have send a warning order to all reserves giving them instructions where and how to proceed would a call to arms be sounded. However they are telling that this is just a wargame and show of force and that there is nothing to be concerned about. Meanwhile NATO has send warning to Eesti that Russia is actually planning to attack. Eesti Gruggingly agreed to allow more NATO forces to be moved  to Eesti but denied arrangement of wargames or deployment of forces.

TF Kanium was assigned to move into NARVA region with task to wait until futher orders.  

Two Hours ago - We received message that there has been multible Explosions in Russian Embassies at Eesti.
    -> TF-Kanium was ordered to move to border and take defensive positions
 
1) SITUATION: 
Enemy Regiment of Russian forces have moved into, and are occupying the other side of border of Narva region. The enemy has strengthened their forces constantly and indirectly threatened Eesti with war. Recently, Russian forces started and huge wargame training just next to border, and it is still going. Enemy is known to patrol along border, and having moved heavy armor to border as response of TF Kanium in NARVA. 
 
a) Enemy: 
    Estimated to consist of Tank Regimen (TD) 1980s + Recon company. Enemy has established rotary wing landing / maintenance area for training purposes east of Narva.   
 
 
b) Own: 
    TF Kanium mixed company from German forces in Eesti and support from NATO. Includes:  Leopard 1A5s (3 plt), Marder 1A3 (1plt). and two recon sections  2x "Wiesels" in each  (Scimitar and wiesel TOW as a pair in each section)  
 
c) Attachments and detachments:  2x  M113-FOs.  Ambulance x2, Recovery x2, Engineering x2 and supply units x4

d) Fires:  3x 6 tube off map indirect batteries available with unlimited HE and Smoke, ICM is limited to 30 rounds. Mortar platoon M1064A3  
 
 
2) MISSION: 
 
In case if Russian forces will attack - Defend area of Narva and aim to stop their advance to area of Narva. For NATO to have time to intervene before Eesti is lost.
 
 
3) EXECUTION:  
 
 Intent:  
    TF Kanium is to move to border and prepare bridges to be bemolized at will. (By securing control of bridge zones)  
    TF Kanium will guard and defend sector slowing and aiming to stop enemy attack to area of Narva. By keeping them under fire and causing heavy enough damage for their advance to stop. 

RULES:

-  Behind Crazy Ivan line is Penalty zone that causes you to blow up.

Yes you can have one of the scimitars also we are playing on the latest version also there are some setup in TS 3 so please show up 1 hour before game start so i can guide you.

There's just one recon platoon, not two.

Nice. Ill try to get my hands on the map then to embed it to final scenario version.

Heh, guys. Turns out, my last minute scrambles caused quite bit of problems.  Someone might have noticed that the theme didn't match one in the pictures posted here.  Thats because the map change changed also my modified theme - something that I totally didn't realize.  Hence I had lots of problems with traction and getting units to move as I needed.  But most importantly...  map was littered with stones, and trees were awfully...  bushy as on normal map.    On my modified theme, those were supposed to be High vis, and with snowy ground. 

 

Fortunately I had some cheats...  I was able to keep momentum on for you guys.  Not to run it to a stalemate as so many times before.  But sadly I think it probably wasn't very fun with the bushy trees.   And that I had to cheat.   Something that I was supposed to be able to go without. But it's good that it was there.

 

I honestly don't understand how I managed to pull this off as well as it came.   End result was pretty much what I had hoped for, that both parties were severely depleted..  but that soviet steamroll was "nearly"  unstobbable. You nearly made it stall for good in several occasions. 

 

I hope you guys enjoed. I am sorry that I managed to fuck up with the theme...  and sorry for Wiesel guys...  I actually found it from my memo to have it M113 tow instead that it would be playable..  but in my rushing get this ready I had not forgotten how awfull it might be to have AI vehicle there.  

 

Perhaps next time this will be on American cold war forces.  M1A1s..  and M113s...   and hopefully...  on correct fucking theme that time.  If we ever play this again.   

 

 

PS..   I think I did run out of waypoints for redside.  I had nearly 500 preplanned waypoints. And I found myself deleting useless waypoints just in case since my units seemed...  unresponsive at times at half way of mission.  😂

I doubt it. I've used over a thousand without running out.
