Xstincshun
So I performed a full re-install of the latest version of SB using the file SBProPEBundleInstaller_4379.exe from the SB eSims site. Install ran fine, loads and was able to adjust all options with the exception of Display Options. By default, it starts in window mode. The moment I select full screen, the game completely locks up and I an not able to Alt+Tab out cause the picture stays in front. I open Task manager, and I can't see it to move it to front...so my only option is to either Log Out or restart. Sometimes Alt+F4 works, but most times it doesn't. System Specs: Asus ROG Strix Z790-F Gaming WiFi mobo Gigabyte 4090 w/Driver v 531.41. Intel i7-13700 32gig DDR5 34" Alienware monitor running at 3440x1440 Will run in window mode
Jartsev
I'm not able to reproduce on my machines; problem requires some investigation. Can you launch SB in debug mode and try switching to full screen? Shortcut for launching SB in debug mode can be found in Start>All Apps> eSim Games-Steel Beasts Pro> Troubleshooting. Then please send us collected debug log (can be found in My Documents/eSim Games/Steel Beasts/logs); please use e-mail, do not post it here.
Gibsonm
Does ASUS still ship their motherboards with that "Sonic Radar" application / utility that used to cause all sorts of issues?

I did not install anything ASUS related. There is an option that can also be disabled in the BIOS, which I did 🙂

Its not something you are asked to install. Edited April 12, 2023 by Gibsonm
Members mrivers
In the Windows Display settings, what is the Scale value? If it isn't 100%, please try that value. Edit, I don't think that is the problem. Edited April 12, 2023 by mrivers
Members mrivers
Unfortunately, the logs you provided don't have enough information to determine the problem. Can you try a couple things and see if SB works correctly after each? 1. Disable your second monitor. (Though I doubt this is the problem) 2. Roll back the GPU driver to an earlier version (I noticed some reports of a few games crashing with the drivers you have)
jlh
I'm not much of a computer guy. I have an i7-10700KF CPU @380GHz, 16 RAM, NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 SUPER (single monitor). This is just a Dell computer. I have this very same issue with this latest update and probably with at least the previous two updates. I just keep it in windowed mode and manually adjust the screen to fit my monitor. Just to let you know your not the only one, for what it's worth. Scrapper_511
Shot in the dark: Do you have any custom settings in the nVidia software that's auto-loading with SB (full screen)?
dwight
I also have 4090 and encountered exactly the same problem. I found a workaround, go to: C:\Program Files\eSim Games\SB Pro PE\Release Right click SBProPE64cm and select Properties and then under the Compatibility tab make sure to check "Disable fullscreen optimizations" and your game should now work in fullscreen. BTW when your system locks up like this and you're on Win11 you can do the following: 1) Press WinKey+Tab 2) Press the "+ New Desktop" button 3) Open Task manager as usual, close the app 4) Press Winkey+Tab again 5) Close the desktop you created which will return you to your old desktop

As soon as i select Full Screen and press ok, the application terminates.
Members Ssnake
Can you find crashdump files of Steel Beasts on your computer? A shortcut to their location can be found in the Windows Start Menu / eSim Games - Steel Beasts Pro / Troubleshooting If so, please put them into a ZIP or RAR file and send them to me by email for further study.
