The reference card can be had directly from AMD at $420(US). The 6600 that I recommended previously should be considered if gaming only at 1080p and within the $260(US) range. Don't sleep on the 6700 (non-XT). Very rare, but if it's available it can blow every other 1440p and 1080p card out of the water for about 280-300usd. They're available and cheap in Australia atm, just picked one up myself.
canada goose
I did a system over haul also MSI tomahawk mag B550 MB AMD ryzen 9 5900 x 12 core cpu AMD rx 6700 XT 12 gb ( very good GPU for the money) Corsair pro 32 GB 3200 mhz ram SSD2 6 gb/s hard drives in both slots Corsair liquid cooler icue 100 On the program userbenchmark it scores the UFO rating It runs all games at max settings with very high fps.
Arch
Well at least now I know SB is not GPU limited at all. The 6700 absolutely crushes contemporary and even modern games (RE4 Remake is pinned 60 on High) but SB FPS did not get affected really at all. 😅 Oh, old simulator things, when the only thing that matters is single core speed.
Members Ssnake
Well, there's a 60-ish fps cap in the engine, so you wouldn't know how much higher the rate might have gone. It's more about the reduction of moments with low frames, or the transition to 4K rendering.

Hitting 30s in my test mission, almost seems like worse than before.
ceedub
My first AMD build: Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, AMD RX 6600 8 GB GPU, 16 GB RAM, ROG B550 MOBO. Spent about $800 total. Re-used my previous Case and PSU. Runs Steelbeasts fine on high settings at 30-50 fps. at 1440p. I also finally replaced my fully functioning 24" monitor with a 32" curved Samsung G5 monitor. Boy-howdy, what an improvement that was! Edited April 12, 2023 by ceedub clarity

Quite nice market if that's full price, mine was about 1200 USD total to now on sales, but I do have some "unnecessary" things in there like 32GB RAM and two NVMEs. Edited April 12, 2023 by Arch I wish I got off with 1000, forgot some parts.
kingeider
Alienware R-11 i7 10700F 16 gb ram RTX 3070 3.5 TB Bought it 2 years ago when we had that chip shortage and it was almost impossible to buy a descent graphics card anyway i put together my last two computers and wanted to upgrade to a better card for DCS, IL2 , Arma, could not find one that was cheaper than my car so i ordered this and was not disappointed! Its always the way that after you spend 3 grand on something you start reading the negative reviews of the confined case overheating issues the usual crap you hate to hear but i am still shocked how well this computer runs. during the hot summer months i lower my settings have the air going monitor everything in game never overclock the monitor is a s 2721DGF 2560 X 1440 P 165hz all the trimmings and whatever the framerate you need
