mesquite5
I have been trying to run SBpro 4.023 after a long time of not running it. Now it won't start as it says I don't have enough memory. I have 32 gigs on the computer and when checked I have 24 gig free when trying to start the game. Any idea what the problem is? Do I need to uninstall then reinstall?
Members Ssnake
Please check the version 4.023 release notes (still on our Downloads page) to see if your computer meets the requirements (e.g. does it require a 64 bit Windows, and do you have that?) Maybe the error will go away after a reboot, if your RAM is heavily fragmented; it's a rather remote chance, but who knows.
mesquite5
I've got a computer well beyond requirements. I have tried rebooting also. Also, yes 64 bit windows 10. I've played the game with no problems in the past. Do you think the game became corrupted somehow? Is there any procedure I should use to reinstall?
Members Ssnake
Try to start Steel Beasts in debug mode. It might be useful to see at which point the message is shown. Send me the resulting log as an email attachment, please. The location of the debug mode Steel Beasts icon is described in the first minute of this video:
mesquite5
Ssnake, did you get my email?
Members Ssnake
I get many emails. If I didn't respond, maybe my email couldn't reach you (see here): Or I may still be waiting for programmer feedback. I admit, your case is a tough one, there is no immediately obvious answer.
mesquite5
Ssnake. Ok well I can't get an email response from you. Let me ask a question and I hope you'll answer it. If I uninstall the game and then reinstall it will I need to do some sort of activation or since I've already run the game before will my activation still be valid? I paid $125 for this game, by far more than any other and I'd like to get it working again. Is there any other procedure I would need to do to reinstall it? How about the codemeter thing? Do I leave it in while installing or do I need to remove it and then put it in at another stage? Thanks.
Members Ssnake
I'm sorry, I'm currently traveling, and it seems like the hotel wifi is blocking the port that I need to access the eSim Games mail server. To your question, the license is stored on your CM stick. No re-activation is required. In fact, it's next to impossible to manipulate the license information stored there (that's the while point of the CM device).
mesquite5
Ok so I uninstalled then reinstalled the game...It works again. I don't know what happened to cause problems before but everything is good now.
Members Ssnake
Yay! So, sometimes reinstallations do work, after all.
