Nike-Ajax
KANIUM Sunday 8th of November - Operation Wyatt Earp by Apocalypse Where: Kanium TS : teamspeak3.i3d.net:10077 World Clock 1800 GMT (Same time as always in Europe - now adjusted for Summer Time: click the time below for your local time) World clock 1900 GMT IMPORTANT NOTICE: This SB session may be recorded with video and sound and uploaded, including to a public youtube channel. IMPORTANT NOTICE II: I suggest to all who play with us download and install Chris mappack: https://www.dropbox.com/s/hr1jl33xxhacftx/SB Converted Maps v2.rar?dl=0 For the next three months at least we will be working with this mappack and the official one when making scenarios. AS always, then we are running the session with the latest version of Steelbeasts. Everybody is Welcome: you don't have to belong to Kanium. We love playing with you all, the arranger and CO loves you even more if you sign up in advance 😁 Operation Shock Force by Apocalypse I. Situation. Enemy a. Enemy forces are defending the AO with a Mechanized Infantry Battalion, supported by tanks. The battalion consists of 2x Companies of infantry, and 2x Companies of Tanks, and 3x batteries of 152mm artillery. We expect several platoons of Mechanized Infantry to be defending west of the Pyrgos River, but the enemy's main defensive force (tanks) defending East of the river. We have also observed a battery of ZSU-23-4 guns defending along the river - this may be high risk for any air assault attempt across the Pyrgos River. b. We have detected platoon battle positions at the airfield and port. At the airport, air recon observed enemy dismounted infantry but have not detected armor in the vicinity. However, we have detected a platoon of BRDMs positioned across the Pyrgos River that will be able to rapidly support an attack against the airport. At the port, we have detected a mechanized infantry platoon of BMP1's with a nearby BTR platoon prepared to reinforce the position. We expect river crossing sites to be defended by dismounted infantry, supported by tank platoons. Additionally, the enemy battalion retains a company of T72M4 tanks in reserve, that they will mostly likely use to counter-attack river crossing sites. The enemy battalion HQ is templated on the map, as are potential artillery firing points. Friendly a. Friendly forces are currently postured off the coast, at amphibious launch points and Pickup Zones. Follow-on forces are currently staging off-map; a tank company (M1A1) is prepared to immediately reinforce once the port has been seized, and heavy air-lift company is prepared to deliver 2x platoons of LAV-III reinforcements at the airfield. Civilian a. We have confirmed that the populace will remain neutral in this engagement. However, they will absolutely defend the city of Pyrgos against anyone who crosses into the city boundaries. Civilians are lightly equipped with AK47s and RPGs, and will employ 2-man teams to patrol the city limits. It is highly encouraged to bypass Pyrgos II Mission. Attacks to destroy enemy high value targets in order to defeat the 24th Mechanized Regiment. III. Execution a. Concept Move rapidly with air and amphibious forces to seize critical infrastructure (port & airfield) - that will enable reinforcements to land. Once seized, continue to expand the beach head - locate and destroy the enemy artillery batteries and HQ. b. Commanders Intent Purpose: The purpose of this operation is to defeat the 24th Mechanized Regiment and restore territorial integrity to the host-nation. Key Tasks: 1. Seize the Port & Airfield 2. Destroy the enemy HQ 3. Destroy the enemy firing batteries Endstate 1. Friendly forces prepared to continue operations to the east 2. Enemy high value targets (HQ & artillery) are destroyed - 24th Regiment unable to continue to project combat power. 3. Key infrastructure (port & airfield) are seized 4. The city of Pyrgos is not entered by friendly forces; minimal collatoral damage to civilians. Fires 5x Batteries (6 guns) available 15x Air Strikes Available IV. Service & Support 1. Organic elements will land at the port, upon J-1's arrival. 2. J-1 is the landing craft that will deliever land forces at the Port. Unloading will begin once they enter the port (2 Min, in game) V. Command & Signal 1. Enemy map contacts: On 2. No change to SOP Edited November 2, 2020 by Nike-Ajax

Apocalypse 31
@Kingtiger @Wiglif @dlad @Snoggy Any other Infantry players.... Small helicopter familiarization flight scenario to train on the UH-60. There's not much to it- the speed/inertia is probably the only aspect that a player must consider for smooth landings.
