  1. I've been trying to host steel beasts to play with a friend from the states (michigan) over radminVPN to avoid the hassle that is port forwarding. I live in europe (germany), and other people from the states i can play just fine with over radmin, but not him. When we try, our ping to one another goes through the roof (2000+) but, other games over radmin like world in conflict or SWAT 4, he and I can play just fine with no latency issues. is there any reason for this? is it possible to fix? We have suspicions that it might be network issues with SB or possibly ISP issues even, but don't have a way / don't know how to verify that hypothesis.

We love playing with you all, the arranger and CO loves you even more if you sign up in advance 😁 Shadows of An Empire by Apocalypse I. SITUATION. a. General. Enemy forces attacked into the area to seize the Khandera Oil Fields but were forced to retrogade after a significant air and naval campaign by coalition forces. Enemy forces retrograded from the coast at the first signs of the coalition ground invasion. However, in their retreat they were successful in destroying the oil production infrastructure as well as preserving most of their combat power to the north of Nabarib Mountains. A coalition forces ground assault force has just landed and is prepared to expel enemy forces. b. Enemy. The enemy was able to preserve a sizeable force; we expect at least two battalions of mechanized infantry (BMP-2) supported by a third battalion of T-62 tanks. The enemy was also able to preserve its fire support and air defense systems, and will use them to support a network around their HQ to the north. The enemy force also maintains a Brigade scout platoon of fast-attack jeeps mounted with ATGMs. The exact enemy scheme of maneuver is unknown - especially since they retrograded from the area - however, expect the enemy to employ their scout platoon across a broad front to locate and disrupt friendly movement in the area. Expect mechanized infantry battle positions (company or platoon) in key terrain positions within the AO, and expect the enemy to use their tanks in a mobile defense - the T-62 is underpowered, but the enemy can mass them at any point. c. Friendly. A mixed US brigade combat team has offloaded in the area. It is equipped with a mix of Strykers and the US Army's newly fielded Mobile Protected Firepower systems (squint very hard!). A piecemeal Task Force consists of 4x Recon Platoons (Stryker Dragoon) equipped with dismounted ATGMs, 3x platoons from a Stryker Weapons Troop (Stryker MGS), and a company of light tanks. MISSION - Attack to clear the enemy C2 / HQ node from the area north of Al Rakia to disintegrate command and control for enemy forces in the area. FIRES 1x FSO 1x UAV 12x 120mm Mortars (On-Screen) 9x 155mm Direct Support (Offscreen) IV. SUPPORT HQ Supply & Medical Assets are organic - all units 100% on classes of supply V. Background Following the events in Ukraine and elsewhere, and their consequences, then many nations across the world have taken a hard and long look at their strategic positions. And also their strategic wishes and goals. Right or wrong then this has led some to believe that the West is weak. Whether this is true or not is immaterial and unimportant. Sometimes subjectively perceived weakness is objectively real weakness in Geo-politics, and this is one of them. Following a grinding war in Syria combined with ethnic strife in Shia Majority Iraq, then Iran have slowly evolved their power base in both countries, building on decades of work. And there have been talks of further strategic cooperation and integration between these countries, which the West and Saudi Arabia and their allies have tried and failed to counter and stop. Iranian forces have already trained closely with their Iraqi and Syrian counterparts for a while, as well as posting increasingly strong forces in both nations. While at the same time having Quds force training and building alliances with terrorists organizations like Hezbollah. This not only threatens Saudia Arabia, but also Israel in the West and Turkey in the North, to name some. But the whole region is destabalized. And the situation is made more volatile by the continued fighting with sporadic elements and remnants of ISIS and similar terror organizations as well as with Kurdish forces. The Kurds have a mixed relationship with Iran, having been both foe and allied if not friends with them, during the last 40 years. But are in direct confrontation with Turkey. This whole situation came to a head six months ago, when the three nations of Syria, Iraq and Iran at a joint press conference broadcast across all media, declared that they would join in what was termed the United Islamic Federation. Referendums were held shortly after this, in all three nations, which allthough disputed by international organizations and many other nations at least internally validated the decision. Following this then they immediately started integrating both in military, political and economic ways. And it seems that this was planned for a while, and expected. It was described as a Federation of independent states. But to many other nations it seemed like a de facto, Iranian led super nation, that stood to dominate the Middle east and beyond.Particularly as the Iranian leadership consolidated and expanded their control after the unification. This unsurprisingly created tensions and fears across the middle east as this meant that Israel, Saudi arabia and Turkey now shared borders with UIF. This in turn meant that all the countries surrounding the Super nation increased their military readiness and sought to expand and cement their alliances, with little or nor real effect. Almost two months ago the situation changed drastically when a terrorist bomb took out the entire Assad family. Allthough the Kurds were quickly blamed by the leadership of UIF, then many whispered that it might in fact have been the Iranians removing one of the remaining barriers for total control. Either directly or by proxy through one of the terrorgroups that Iranian Quds force have trained. Regardless of the truth of the matter, then the consequence was that UIF forces struck and struck hard and fast against the Kurds. Intially Turkey for many reasons including historic, welcomed this. However as UIF forces struck ever further north and west Turkey was increasingly worried, and started to make hasty preparations to repel UIF forces if needed. This eventually meant that UIF and Turkish forces came into close contact. And with mutual distrust, tensions running high and a lot of weapon systems in close proximity, then all it took was a spark. And the spark came two weeks ago, when UIF fighters got too close to the Turkish border. And were shot down. The UIF claimed they were attacked on UIF territory whereas Turkey claims UIF had passed into Turkish airspace. With the last decades history in the region, then the border is somewhat fluid in places. So its not entirely clear who is right. What is clear though, is that this has escalated from a border dispute to what is increasingly looking like a full scale conventional war, as neither side wanted - or could - back down. So there has been constant and escalating skirmishes, artillery duels and limited air battles ever since. NATO and the rest of the world is dragging their feet, and while making suggestions and urging talks then in effect they have done nothing. Russia and China and their spheres of influence are on the fence, and have not taken sides yet. Turkey has talked about invoking Article 5 of the NATO charter, but has not done so yet. There are also resistance internally in NATO for different reasons and EU is totally paralyzed and are thus also on the fence. But the Turks have put their military and police on full military readiness. Yesterday a strong UIF battlegroup pushed North. It has been decided that Turkey must strike back ... A line has been drawn in the sand. And the UIF foolishly chose to cross it. I. Situation Time 0530 Local Time, sunrise at 05:33 and sunset at 19:50 Weather Clear sky with no chance of rain, 35 degrees Centigrade and LOS 3000 Km. Wind direction SW at 3 m/s General. We are at war, although it has not been formally declared yet, and no politicians will utter the words. UIF force has thrust a few miles into our territory and in our AO has set up a temporary HQ to the south. It is expected that they will soon thrust further North to expand and consolidate their position. And either create either a better position from which to negotiate or worse still: to push further North as first part of general offensive. The terrain is extremely difficult for both sides, but our hands are tied. This is where the battle must be fought as it is militarily and politically unacceptable to let UIF forces push further north. Due to the remoteness and difficult terrain, then we have not been able to assemble all the forces we would. So we will have to fight with what we have. Among other assets we have allocated an UAV for your use and allocated significant support assets including an artillery brigade, a MLRS battery and 4 strike planes. With these assets, then it is hoped that you will be able to hit the ENY while he is out of formation and unable to bring his forces to bear with full weight. In short we are hoping that you will be able to create the conditions for a counterattack and Defeat the enemy in Detail. From the size and composition of the Enemy then we expect that he will use four columns routes his attack, with a possible additional fifth column. We are politically and militarily still building up, so we need the Enemy to get a bloody nose and show our potential allies and helpers that we are viable and that they can bet on us not to fold before they might help us. Allthough we are rapidly reactivating older equipment and reservists, then the challenge is that neither side can bring their full forces to bear due to the terrain. So we need to be smart and flexible. We expect the ENY to have far less flexibility in their Command and Control structure, which means that we hope to be better able to adapt to the difficult terrain conditions. Our Taskforce Yeniçeri - Janissary, as part of an ADHOC Battlegroup, have been tasked with this mission. You will be outnumbered but not outfought. We have a difficult tasking in that our options are very much open, and the HQ needs us to exploit any mistakes the ENY makes and use all opportunities and has the correct timing and cooperation to execute the counter attack. And do this while remaining combat effective for the next battle, as UIF is already moving reinforcements forwards. If it turns out that the chance shows it self, then you are free to use your own initiative to push further SOUTH as long as it doesnt endanger your other tasks. From INTEL, then it appears that the Enemy have no prepared defences in the South or elsewhere in this AO but from HUMINT and SIGINT, then its expected that they have a light screening force in place to hold off any attack from the North. You are cleared to use all weapons at your disposal with extreme prejudice in all of the AO, including FIRES in the Urban areas. And you have the full weight of the BTN artillery at your call. Terrain and Ground The terrain in our AO is VERY difficult and challenging. Consequently it will shape both our and the ENY´s movement and options. Thus creating both opportunities, problems and hazards for both sides. It is mountainous, including impassable (by vehicles at least) rockfields. Be careful when passing them as this means a risk of detracking Callsigns as well as damaging suspension. Furthermore there are several ravines and gullies which in effect will work as anti-tank ditches spread out over the AO. Added to which is scattered forested areas. Finally there is a deep and wide valley going from NW to SE, which will likely de facto trap any callsigns venturing into it. A careful MAP RECCE is advised. Enemy Forces. The Enemy to our overall front is a Battalion sized(+) combined UIF Force. From Intel, both HUMINT and SIGINT then this seems to be at least the following: 1) One Light motorized Irregular COY made up of Hezbollah fighters under UIF command. Expected to be riding technicals with an assortment of heavy weapons, including RCL, HMG and ATGMs. Estimated strength around 5 PLts in groups of 3 callsigns. 2) One reinforced RECON COY, with estimated around 4 PLTs Scorpion light tanks, and around 2 PLTs BMP-1s. 3) One MECHINF COY, estimated around 4 PLTs BMP-2s of 4 callsigns 4) One MECHINF COY, Estimated around 4 PLTs BTR-80s of 4 callsigns 5) One Tank COY with Chieftain Mk. 5s, estimated at around 4 PLTs of 4 callsigns. 6) One Tank COY with updated T-72s, estimated to be equivalent to T-72B1 m. 1985 level. Confidence about which is HIGH Added to this there is a light screening force around the ENY HQ and STRONG ENY AA units spread out around the area surrounding the ENY HQ. This likely also includes around 2 PLTs of T72s Finally an unknown number of ex-Iraqi T-55 Minebreaching tanks with plows have been seen in the AO. Confidence is HIGH There have been rumours that the UIF is trying to get a handful of Ex-Iraqi M1A1´s into the AO by rail. But we have NO firm Intel on that at this stage. Confidence about which is LOW to MEDIUM. Enemy COA From our INTEL sources and from what we have seen lately, the UIF will form these into Mixed COYs, and expected to attack in four columns. Confidence about that is MEDIUM to HIGH. BUT with rumours of a fifth column unsubstantiated but persistent. Confidence about which is LOW to MEDIUM. We expect the ENY to be experienced and their ammunition the best they can get. The Enemy is on the offence and have constructed no defences nor we do not expect any ENY Obstacles or minefields in your AO, attack vector and direction, confidence about that is HIGH. But we do however expect them to be aggressive and in a combat stance. From history of the ENY, then it is expected that they will stop and fall back if hit hard enough. Thus opening the way for our Counter attack. HQ have promised that other operations will deny the ENY of any further reinforcements from the SOUTH and EAST beyond what is described above. Confidence about that is HIGH. From SIGINT and knowing their SOP, then we know that the ENY have access to Artillery in substantial but unknown amounts. This might include a battery of BM-21s Friendly Forces. We have limited local air superiority, and therefore have 4 strike planes but no rotary wing support. This is primarily due to strong local Air defence around the ENY HQ to the Southeast. But also because Command is afraid of escalating the confrontation too fast. We have NO other friendly forces in our immediate vicinity, with the next line of defence - IF we fail and fall - further North West, and in weak positions. Our Taskforce Yeniçeri - Janissary consists of 4 x tank platoons of Leopard 2A4 as well as 4x mechanized infantry platoon of M113G3 with OWS, 1 HEAVY RECON PLT divided in 2 sections of 3 callsigns each of Leopard 1A5. We also have a tactical reserve of 2 PLT of M60 SABRA (Looks like M60A3(TTS)), 1 PLT of M113 TOW and 1 PLT of M113G3 with OWS. We also have 3 x 6 Tubes of 155mm SP howitzers, which have a full range of rounds including Two (2) FASCAM missions (self-destruct 30 mins) and 2 x 6 x 120 mm SP mortars (with the howitzers being further back, so off-map), as well as support assets from HQ Company (2 x (repair, 2 x supply and medical)). We have no Air Beyond the 4 strikeplanes due to heavy presence of ENY AA and AAA in AO, EXCEPT that we DO have an UAV (P-8). But do not push the UAV too far South it will surely be shot down (Reference Map trace) Our dismounted infantry from B and D COY is equipped with 2 x Anti-Tank teams (SPIKE MR) (Odds callsigns). Each MECHINF platoon in B COY thus has 2x Anti-Tank teams, the rest being issued with 2 x AT-4s and riflegrenades plus a medicteam, and are all considered Elite. Rules of Engagement. NOTHING IN THESE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT LIMITS YOUR RIGHT TO TAKE APPROPIATE ACTION TO DEFEND YOURSELF AND YOUR UNIT. A. You have the right to use force to proactively engage any and all ENY targets of opportunity. B. You are cleared to fire first on all hostile targets or targets with deemed hostile intent, including armed civilians. C. The force should be used under the circumstances and proportional to the threat. D. We are at war. Destruction of civilian property has been cleared by the local authorities if CO deems that there is a military value and goal in said destruction, including FIRES in urban areas. E. All Laws of War are to be observed. II. Mission Taskforce Yeniçeri/Janissary is to repulse ENY attacks from South. And then to go on the offence and destroy enemy defenders between PL Öldürmek/Alpha and PL Yikmak/Bravo, and if possible to Destroy ENY HQ to the Southeast. III. Execution Concept of the Operation: Taskforce Yeniçeri/Janissary with 4 PLTs in tactical reserve, will attack from the North and towards SOUTH, setting an attack by fire from PL Öldürmek/Alpha towards PL Yikmak/Bravo, and try to catch and isolate the ENY while they are out of formation and position. They have 2 FASCAM missions to assist in this goal along with limited Obstacles inclduing one (1) Minefield. They will also use own assets to defend FRIENDLY HQ and SP 1 from the Enemy. This will open the area for further offensive operations, disrupt the Enemys defences in the area and achieve our overall political goals in this stage, including blunting further ENY Offensive actions in the short run. Do not risk the integrity of your command by attacking the Enemy forward HQ the SOUTH UNLESS the TF CO is positive enough that this can achieved successfully and without compromising the integrity of his command. However you are encouraged to use initiative and ingenuity in executing the goals. Commanders Intent Purpose - The purpose of this operation is to attack, and then clear the Enemy forces and defeat their will to fight in this AO, while defending OWN HQ and Supply Point. Key Tasks 1. Defend Friendly HQ and SP 1 and repulse ENY Attacks 2. Attack from vicinity PL Öldürmek/Alpha towards PL Yikmak/Bravo destroying the ENY as you go. 3. If possible and sensible exploit any opportunities including attacking the ENY HQ to the South. End State Friendly Friendly forces postured on or in vicinity of PL Yikmak/Bravo; consolidated and prepared and able to continue operations towards the SOUTH and EAST. Enemy Enemy forces defeated or destroyed between PL Öldürmek/Alpha and PL Yikmak/Bravo, unable to support Enemy forces in the Southern part of the AO. Terrain All tactically commanding terrain features in friendly hands and cleared of enemy forces. Civilian Not relevant as all LOCAL inhabitants are evacuated Fires We have 3 x 6 Tubes of self-propelled 155 mm howitzers that will directly support this operations, from outside of the AO (offmap) and 2 x Six (6) 120 mm self-propelled Mortars for use. We also have 1 MLRS Strike on standby (No reloads). Finally we have an UAV (P-8), to assist with target identification and possibly BDA. 2 x 6 x Tubes of 120mm organic fires under TF CO control (P-1 and P-2) 3 x 6 x Tubes of 155 mm off-map fires under TF CO control, including 2 x FASCAM 1 x MLRS Strike Package (2 x 3 MLRS BM-21, P51 and P54), no reloads There are 12 Priority fire missions allocated. Strategic map: Tactical Maps: ________________ Operation Ragnarok Phase II 7´th of June 2023 SB Mission by Nike-Ajax Scenario notes: 1) For a number of reasons, then there are NO smoke missions on either side for server stability. Also for server stability, all destroyed callsigns will be removed after 60 sec. For same reason there is no clouds. 2) This is a TWO part scenario, so BLUEFOR/Aesir will ONLY advance to Phase Line Aesir in the first session. In the second BLUEFOR will advance to, and make a bridge crossing of the river Boevra, and then fight to seize the ENY HQ. 3) This will simulate a BGD BG attack. For server stability then it is simulated that BGD CO will coordinate the attack in the other AO to match the progress of BLUEFOR in the chosen AO, hence the BLUEFOR CO only has to worry about staying within his boundaries. And winning. 4) This is meant and built to be run by a Human OPFOR 0. Background The battle has begun: All across the worlds the fighting rages. The Gods are barely holding on and many have fallen. Voelven´s prophecy are coming close to the truth: 51. O'er the sea from the east | there sails a ship With the people of Muspell, | at the helm stands Loki; After the wolf | do wild men follow, And with them the brother | of Byleist goes. 52. Surt fares from the south | with the scourge of branches, The sun of the battle-gods | shone from his sword; The crags are sundered, | the giant-women sink, The dead throng Hel-way, | and heaven is cloven. 53. Now comes to Hlin | yet another hurt, When Othin fares | to fight with the wolf, And Beli's fair slayer | seeks out Surt, For there must fall | the joy of Frigg. 54. Then comes Sigfather's | mighty son, Vithar, to fight | with the foaming wolf; In the giant's son | does he thrust his sword Full to the heart: | his father is avenged. 55. Hither there comes | the son of Hlothyn, The bright snake gapes | to heaven above; . . . . . . . . . . Against the serpent | goes Othin's son. But not all is lost. In middleearth, the forces of good are holding their own despite heavy losses, fighting wars they think is of their own making. Maybe Ragnarök can be stopped or delayed after all ? I. Situation Time: 0300 Local Time Weather: Clear skies with no chance of rain, 23 degrees Centigrade, wind speed 5 m/s from NE and LOS 3500 Meters General We have attacked through the initial enemy forces in Jotunheimen, and fought our way up to near the the river Boevra to our north. We had to stop to rearm and reorganize due to heavy losses, particularly in the western AO, where their Tank forces was hit harder than yours. From this position we will continue the attack, securing and then crossing the river, to enable us to carry our offensive further north. The initial battle was successful, but hard fought. And we expect this to no easier. Our strategic objective is to ATTACK the ENY to the Northeast with a BGD BG, making an opposed river crossing aimed at and after the crossing, destroying the ENY HQ. The Enemy have had their initial strong defenses broken and breached by our forces, but we know that they have a secondary obstacle area north of the river built up for months if not years. Which in line with our last operation, will be used to strengthen their defenses. And will likely hide behind them and try to inflict as many casualties as they can from there (Reference Map trace). Once you have reached Phase line Baldur, you will halt and CONSOLIDATE and then remain and DEFEND in place. Thus setting the parameters for the break out operation to advance and expand further North and East and force the Enemy into a more mobile type of warfare which suits us better. Due to our heavy losses, then what remained of the MECHINF and Recon forces that was used in the previous operation have been pulled back for rearmament, reconsolidation and repair. You have instead been allocated a full new MECHINF COY as well as a PLT of RECON. The TNK PLTs have been repaired, rearmed and casualties replaced. But as outlined, then the other BG to your West was hit hard, so we do not have any more reinforcements beyond that. We therefore do not have as many forces as we wanted. But not only are our forces limited, due to the state of lack of worship of the old Gods on Middleearth. But the attack which you took part in was only one of many. And there are more to come. So you will have to make do with what you have. Do NOT push past boundaries EAST or WEST or risk being attacked and destroyed from your flanks, because as in your previous operation other forces will attack coordinated by BGD CMD alongside your attack. Terrain: Mixture of closed and open, with channeling and blocking terrain features particularly to the South and Southwest, opening up as you push further North. Also there are a number of natural obstacles in the form of rivers, lakes and other watercourses. Biggest terrain feature is the River Boevra and the hills to the north of it which commands the river. Second biggest is the tributary river of the Boevra which runs North to south and divides the NE part of your AO Obstacles: The Enemy expected us to come and have made numerous obstacles and defenses. Although we broken through their first defensive line, then we expect a secondary - and from Intel last - one to the north of the river. This includes Minefields, from Intel both real and decoy, Abatis in many of the wooded areas, Czech hedgehogs and tank trenches. You do not have to clear these for follow-on forces, but you will probably be forced to breach some minefield regardless to keep lines of communication open, your rear safe and create openings in the ENYs defense. So do what you must to push through, bypassing if necessary. But you have significant ENG assets (2 x reinforced ENG PLT), so clear all obstacles that threaten your advance, flanks OR line of communications. Current Situation. The Enemy is on the DEFENSE with slightly inferior numbers, but we have the better equipment, training and to some degree the element of tactical surprise if not Strategic. They have used the time well to entrench themselves thoroughly. We are on their soil, and even though that means the risk of civilians in the AO, then stakes are high. Therefore, you are tasked to avoid civilian casualties to the degree that it does not endanger your command or overall goals. FIRES in the Urban areas are only authorized by TF COMD (Try to avoid it, if the tactical situation allows it) The majority of the ENY forces have consolidated and reinforced to the NORTH of the Boevra River Enemy Forces Strength: ENY Combined Btn(-). Equipment: At least one (1) Company with M1A1 (in PLTs of 4), One (1) Company mixed with Ulans and Centauros (in PLTs of 4). Added to which 2-3 platoons of dismounted infantry including ATGMs and a Recon element likely with BRDM 2s. Finally likely at least 1 PLT of SP MTR and CSS/HQ ENY Artillery expected in SIGNIFICANT volume. Quality: Likely experienced warriors so regulars. And they WILL be expected to fight to the death, because the stakes are as high for them as for us. MDA: ENY in PREPARED DEFENSE in Main Defensive Areas (MDA), constructed defenses, entrenchments, bunkers and major obstacles highly likely (Reference Maptrace), confidence about which is HIGH. Reinforcement: NOT expected from the East, West or South as their lines of communication are cut for now and they have taken substantial losses across the tactical and strategic AO. Confidence HIGH. ENY ENG have been spotted placing what seems to be demolition charges on the bridges over the river Boevra, and are expected to blow them as we push North. Confidence HIGH. Estimated placement of ENY HQ plotted on map (Reference Map Trace), confidence MEDIUM. ENY CoA: Likely will seek to delay and attrit our forces, using the terrain and prepared defenses to disrupt, delay and destroy our forces. Likely will also seek to engage our forces in limited local and small counterattacks or ambushes. And/or channel and lead our forces into killzones where they can use their AT weapons including ATGMs, and use of terrain, to make up for their relative weakness in equipment and training. Majority of ENY units seem to have been pulled North of the River BOEVRA. But expected light and Recon units south of the River Boevra in PLT (+) size. Likely the ENY will blow most if not all bridges over the Rive Boevra, to delay and channel our forces. ENY have access to Artillery in substantial numbers, exact units deployed for this operation unknown. Friendly Forces (FF). Local AIR SUPERIORITY achieved, but ENY Rotary Wing units can not be discounted in the AO. Flanks. FF East and West to SECURE Flanks, but not to Spt Attack apart from the forces that will attack in the AO, under direct control and coordination by BGD CMD. FF WEST will make a supporting attack to tie ENY forces down, and attrit them if possible. TF GUNGNIR: TF in Deployment Area consists of 4 x tank platoons of STRV122, 1 x RECON PLT (PIRANHA V w. OWS LEMUR 2013, PILAR and AVEPS), 2 x PLT ENG (w. 2 x KODIAK, 1 x M113G3 ENG MICLIC, 1 x BIBER bridgelayer and 2 x GTK Boxer ENG) as well as 4 x Mechanized Infantry Platoon´s of CV90/40-B. Plus Command elements. There are also 3 x 3 Biber mobile bridges, meant for the crossing of the River Boevra to the north. Also there have been allocated a two (2) SP MTR PLTs platoons with integral Supply. Finally there is an extra CMD element, so 2 x STRV122 and 2 x CV90/40-B. TF GUNGNIR Dismounted infantry equipped with 2 x Anti-Tank teams (FGM-148 Javelin) (Odds callsigns) and 2 x LMG Teams (Even callsigns). Each MECHINF platoon thus has 2x Anti-Tank teams and 2 x LMG Teams, the rest being issued with AT-4s and rifle grenades plus a medic team, and are all considered Elite. The Recon INF are equipped with JIM-LR and their vehicles with UAV Quadcopters. There are NO reinforcements beyond this. FIRES: 4 x 6 Tubes of 155mm SP howitzers, no FASCAM or SMOKE available, but with ICM. (With the howitzers being further back, so off-map) 2 x 6 x 120 mm SP mortars with their own supply trucks 12 CAS strike missions on call. 1 x MLRS Strike package (NO reloads) (As usual: ALL ARTILLERY IS UNDER THE CONTROL OF CO AND FO: So do NOT touch the ARTY controls if you not one of these two). Also try to avoid using FIRES in Urban areas. LOGISTICS: In TF GUNGNIR: Repair Sect, 1 x Supply, 1 x Fueler and 1 x MED Sect, plus one more PLT same setup minus the fuler PLUS two (2) x 1 ARV section with 1 x ARV and 1 x Repair Sect. 2 x Engr PLT, as there are expected major prepared obstacles in vector of attack. But you may BYPASS ENY obstacles, if prudent and necessary given the tactical environment. Rules of Engagement. NOTHING IN THESE RULES OF ENGAGEMENT LIMITS YOUR RIGHT TO TAKE APPROPRIATE ACTION TO DEFEND YOURSELF AND YOUR UNIT. A. You have the right to use force to proactively engage any and all ENY targets of opportunity. B. You are cleared to fire first on all hostile targets or targets with deemed hostile intent, including armed civilians. Anyone armed are deemed hostile. C. The force should be used under the circumstances and proportional to the threat. D. We are at war. As prophesized by the oracle Voelven, then all the signs are here: we stand at the edge of Ragnarok. When Ragnarök come, winter and cold weather will last for three years, with no summer in between the winter seasons. This was known as fimbul-winter “mighty winter”, snowing from all directions. Throughout the world, great battles would be fought; all taboos would be broken, brothers killing one another, and sons would murder their fathers too, mostly out of greed. No kinship would be sacred; adultery and incest would increase exponentially. This period would be known as the age of axes, age of swords, age of wolves and age of winds. The two giant wolves, Skoll will swallow up sun (Sol), while Hati shall devour the moon (Moon or Mani). Stars will fall out of the heaven. The giant worm or dragon Nidhogg that have been gnawing at one of roots of Yggdrasill (Niflheim), would have succeeded in eating away the root that supported Niflheim. Loki, who was confined in a cavern and punished for his involvement with Balder’s death, will escape from his imprisonment, and lead the giants, and his monstrous offspring, to destroy the gods and mankind. Fenrir will escape from his magic binding, while the Midgard Serpent named Jörmungand (Jormungand) will escape from his confinement in the sea. Frost giants and mountain giants will leave their home in Jötunheim, and sailing toward Plain of Vigrid in a ship called Naglfar; while the fire giants led by Surt will leave their fiery home of Muspelheim. Vigrid would be the field of the final battle. Vigrid is an immense plain, a hundred league in every direction. To delay or maybe avoid the end of the world as we know it, then Odin and the other Aesir and Vanir Gods of Asgard have decided to strike first aginst the giants and Jaettir of Jotunheimen, hoping if not to avoid then at least blunt it. We have activated all our Warriors and the Einhejrer of our armies stand ready. The Gods themselves are tied up with other things, including fighting the Fenris Wolf and keeping Hel at bay, so it is up to our warriors to strike this first and important blow. Maybe if we strike hard enough our enemies will reconsider or slow down, thus saving not only us but also the humans of Midgaard who are oblivious to our battle and think what they are experiencing are natural catastrophes and climate changes. The fate of the worlds rest upon your shoulders. We are too few, but the supply of Warriors sadly have dried up as faith in the Old Gods have waned. So we are forced to work with what we have. YOU are part of TF Gungnir (Spear of Odin). And all the eyes of the worlds are upon you, not to mention the hopes of the Gods. I. Situation Time: 0600 Local Time Weather: Clear skies with no chance of rain, 22 degrees Centigrade, wind speed 4 m/s from SW and LOS 3000 Meters General We have attacked the enemy in Jotunheimen, and forced our way across the river that marks the boundary between them and us. We now stand ready to push forward into the lands and do battle with our ancient enemies. The War has been ongoing for milennia, but have now been pushed to a head by other events. Our strategic objective is to ATTACK the ENY to the Northeast with a BGD BG, opening up for a opposed river crossing in the next operation (so next session and Phase II) aimed at and after the crossing, seizing the ENY HQ. The Enemy have fallen back to their strong defenses, and will likely hide behind them and try to inflict as many casualties as they can from there (Reference Map trace). Do NOT push past Phase Line Aesir with your BG under ANY circumstance (Reference Map Trace) ! Once you have reached this phase line, you will halt and CONSOLIDATE and then remain and DEFEND in place. Thus setting the parameters for the follow-up operation to cross the Boevra river, including rearming and re consolidating as well as pushing forward bridging equipment. Do NOT push past boundaries or risk being attacked and destroyed from your flanks. 10. Hi All So here is my question: I would like to try another approach to using Recon in a multiplayer scenario. Specifically due to the length of sessions as well as not having a number of people waiting, then we are often forced to use Recon in an accelerated fashion, if at all. Therefore I am toying with the idea of splitting a scenario in two: Starting it up with an extended Recon session, and once the goals are achieved, then do a save in progress. And then in the follow-up main session/scenario being able to use and build on the recon in the same scenario thus in effect splitting the scenario up in a Recon and action phase so to speak. So how then would I be able to facilitate this best?

This is my first publich scenario. Situated in a Canadian/finish/northern Sweden like environment, in a mix of closed and canalized terrain with some farmland. Can be played as single (1 recon section, 2 Mekinf platoons and 2 Tk platoons, and morter and support) or multiple players. Tne concept is a deep Advance to contact, clean up and finally seize the objective in a industry part of city. Eny is a single forwarded force with heavy artillery support. Enemy is randomized and very responsive action to yours. I tried to make him proactive and tricky. Just to make it fun to replay. Further instructions in the briefing in the scenario. If maps are needed download Kingston maps. The Maps are build together with LEO MACDONNALD from CAN 1 armd div in the SB community. IF I GET 3 COMMENTS, PLEASE ADD YOUR IDEAS FOR A SCENARIO, I WILL MAKE A NEW SCENARIO. Pls issue any comment and enjoy the simulation. Be aware the mission is very difficult and very hard to achieve success in. The scenario has no politically or realistic intention or setup. a mix of old, new equipment, new zeeland APV, german tanks old and new russian and a bit of UK.

Hi Here is a pretty complex (red) scenario, that challenges your decision making in the field and your ability to read a map for defensive positions. You have control of a reinforced Danish Leopard 1-A5 DK-1 tank platoon. It has been reinforced with 2 more Leopards from B-company and 6 M-113's with 106mm mortar. Appart from that you have a couple of scout GD's and a support attachment. The OPFOR consists of 6 different levels ranging from 1 tank platoon to a brigade size force with support units. Furthermore the OPFOR can be enhanced with M-24 Hind airsupport, Mi-8 Airborne troops and/or a section of MRLS. So all in all a lot of different possibilitys of OPFOR. Blue force is conducting a Defence in Sector, and OPFOR is conducting a Meeting Engagement. Take your time in the planing phase so you don't get stuck with an element in the marsh or misplaced vehicle emplacements. Make sure you know how to get from one side of your sector to the other and have you your artillery priorities planed.
  14. Wednesday 14th of June "Kanium Wednesday Ad-Hoc Session 1" by ? When: Wednesday 14th of June at 19:00 CEST (UTC Offset: UTC +2) Where: Kanium TS ( teamspeak3.i3d.net:10077 ) World Clock: https://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/fixedtime.html?msg=Ad-Hoc+Gaming+session&iso=20170614T19&p1=69&ah=2 We will meet in Kanium TS at the designated time and take it from there Setup guide for Kanium TS: https://docs.google.com/document/d/16welDGmJbTUN8zMI7w1a2CJwFqmCMfF0dKDmVFS-ik4/edit IP Adress for Network session is in Kanium TS, under Steel Beasts Due to popular demand, we will be starting to host Ad-hoc multiplayer games on wednesdays. Its NOT an attempt to compete with the excellent multiplayer games that the canadians and Gibson mounts, and which I and we will recommend for all to try. Or any of the other good games, which I and we fully support. Its merely a question of timing: For those in the european timezones then its hard to get up at 2 o´clock in the morning. Also for those only doing the Kanium games on sundays, then wednesday seems to be a good day to do a multiplayer game in between. Therefore this is an initial probe to find out how and when players want to play it. We will have access to a dedicated server and can play any game in any way that the players want. Mu suggestion is that those interested start by answering the following questions. 1) Are you interested, and if so what would you like to play? 2) Frequency: every week or every other week? 3) Time of day: 19:00 GMT +1 ? 4) any other preferences or good ideas ? Games will be open to anyone regardless of nationality, affiliation and level of skill. Only requirement is that you can speak and understand a comprehensible english, and can get along with others to the degree that you can interact with them.
  15. Hey gents. I'm sure this has been asked before, but when I searched I only turned up answers from 2011 or earlier. I'm a group leader for another military simulation game that focuses on infantry. We've been eyeing Steel Beasts Pro as a means for us to get into some more realistic armor scenarios, but we have some questions. 1: Does the game support dedicated servers, or would one of us have to host? 2: If we have to host, does that require an additional license? 3: Is there a player cap? From what I read in 2011 there was an eight player cap. Not sure if that's still in place. Thanks for your time.
  16. D.O.W. Saturday Mission 22/10/16 @ GMT19:00 You can watch it live. You do NOT need Steel Beasts. http://www.twitch.tv/dogsofwarvu Animosities Unveiled by Lusik This scenario is a simulation and does not have any political message. Mission Summary : May 3rd, 1993 Countries of Moratia and Mercia were part of a united Peoples’ Democratic Republic of Rastavia during long years of the Cold War. But with the fall of the communist block in the Easter Europe the bonds that held several of Rastavian Rublics together began to break loose. Over long years of communism Mercia was exploiting other republics, which was partially driven by economy and partially by historical animosities between the countries, reaching as far as the 16th century. Old animosities, held back by the oppression on communist rule, started to surface quickly in the early ‘90s and soon separatists movements in each country were growing stronger. Being the biggest country of Rastavia, Marcia was the only only on that wanted to maintain former order. It lacked major natural resources and most importantly, unlike other republics, it was the only one without access to the sea - the primary source of commerce for the country and shipments of natural resources that were so badly needed during the transformation period. In December last year, Solania, was the first country of the Rastavian Republic to declare independence. The declaration was recognised by the UN and general public opinion in Western Europe. As one may expect, it encouraged other former republics to step on the path to independence. In November elections to Moratian government separatist party gained overwhelming majority in the regional governments and started reforms that were aimed at breaking from the Rastavia. People went our on the streets and occupied major public squares in support of the reforms. In March the governed proclaimed its new constitution and declared independence. Just like Solania, it was supported by the international community and openly condemned by Mercia and other countries of the former communist block. Soon events started to unfold very quickly. Last month Mercia ordered a general mobilisation in reaction to the “violation of international agreements” , as they called our declaration of independence, and claimed that it was unlawful. Therefore, actions had to be taken to bring back the old order. Our intel discovered that Mecia started moving its mechanised units closer to the border. Today morning all diplomatic means failed and Mercian forces crossed the border. They broke through our foreword outposts quickly and are heading towards the capital. 18. D.O.W. Saturday Mission 8/10/16 @ GMT19:00 You can watch it live. You do NOT need Steel Beasts. http://www.twitch.tv/dogsofwarvu The Darkest Dreams by Lusik This scenario is a simulation and does not have any political message. Mission Summary : You have never thought it was going to happen. The darkest dreams came true. Something that we saw in our training films has suddenly become a brutal reality. 3 days ago Warsaw Pact forces advanced through the border in overwhelming force. The red tide that we have always been afraid of smashed our border outposts all along the front. The main push was through Fulda Gap but NATO forces have seen action all along the German-DDR border For the majority of soldiers in the company it is still is like a dream, which is visible in their young wide-open eyes. Luckily, the training and drills we have practiced for so long are taking over. Everybody knows what to do but the chaos is overwhelming. The horror... the horror…as Kurtz would say. How did it come to this? WW3 was sparked in the Middle East following combined NATO - Israeli strike on Syrian airbases. Airbases that were full of Soviet instructors and personnel. Over 120 Russians last their lives in the attack and several more were wounded. USSR treated this as act of open war and prepared a retaliatory strike in NATO air bases in Turkey. Dogfights between the the Soviet and NATO aircraft ensued resulting in several aircraft downed on both sides. UN summoned an emergency security council meeting, which was openly boycotted by USSR and China. Any attempts to find a peaceful solutions to the situation were overthrown. And then the attack came. Here in Germany, in our sector of the front, 2nd Cav have been fighting delaying action but suffered heavy losses. 2nd Armoured comes to the rescue. We are Task Force DOW which is compromised of mixed US German units. We were held in reserves but we have been finally sent to the front to face the enemy. We still have old but venerable M60s but our German allies sent them their newest baby - Leopard 2, along with some mechanised infantry in Marders. We are going to fight… and we know that for some of us this dream will be without awakening. Map Excerpts of the battalion commander's (HVAOC 6) orders for...BLUEFOR (D.O.W.) Task Force DOW is made of the following units: 2 platoons of M-60A3s (TTS) 1 platoon of M113A2s 1 platoon of Leopard 2A4s 1 platoon of Marders 3x M113 TOW support 2x M106 SPM 1x M88 Combat Engineering Vehicle 1x M113 Ambulance 2x Supply Trucks c) Attachments and detachments: 1x Battery of M109s with HE, Smoke and ICM 2x fire missions of FASCAM Due to difficult situation in several sectors of the front, no reinforcements are available. If you think that the enemy will break through, retreat and avid further losses. TERRAIN AND WEATHER: The terrain is typical for Saxony. Open areas with several hills. Try to find the best possible positions and defend Elze. Due to low pressure centre and a warm fron front that has been sitting here for the last two days the skies is fully overcast, which makes it difficult for us to use our aviation assets. Our forecast indicates that you may expect rain in the couple of hours. ******************************** ** Notes ** ******************************** SB Version: 4.004 64bit Mission Name: The darkest dreams Created by: Lusik Modified by: N/A Multi-Crew: Yes Single Crew: Yes Largest command: Company plus Smallest command:Crew Position Mission Duration: Up to 120 minutes depending on players Minimum number players: 5 Date: Saturday Mission 8/10/16 Time: 19:00 GMT Time (local): Click here Teamspeak IP: 74.91.127.204 wait in lobby for access to other areas. It’ s not exactly the kind of weather you expected in the Middle East. We've been here since September and the only thing we have fought with so for was boredom. We have been away from our families, your friends and our life for too long. Last month, on the 17th the air offensive started. From what we have seen on CNN, Saddam took a heavy pounding but on the ground it’s been quiet… almost. At the end of last month Saddam forces made an attempt to take a Saudi town of Al-Khafji. Two of our recon units were trapped in the city for a couple of days but we let the Saudis to liberate they homeland a few days after. Two LAVs were lost due to friendly fire. You are part of Task Force Ripper, 2nd Marine Tank Battalion, 2nd Marine division. Our tanks have been mixed up with LAVs (NZLAV) to give you more flexibility. Our long wait has finally come to an end. Two days ago President Bush rejected Soviet peace plan and demanded Iraq begin withdrawal from Kuwait by noon Feb. 23 to avoid ground war. Iraqi information official branded U.S. position “shameful ultimatum and set one-sixte of Kuwait’s 950 oil wells ablaze. Today it’s the time to cross the border and liberate the country. 22. Hi, Me and my friend are trying to play SB together in a Network Session but struggle to set up our connections. Could anybody help us? We live in different countries and behind different routers. If you can please, answer the following questions: 1. Is it possible to connect and play together without external, 3rd party software such as Hamachi or All Seeing Eye? 2. What Local IP Address should we have set up in our in-game Options: (all available IPv4 only)? 3. Do we both need to forward TCP/UDP 2300 - 2400 & UDP 47624 ports? This is pretty much all that we can think of. It's difficult to find anything on the internet as SB is a very niche simulation. Please, help!
