manteuffel
Hi gentlemens I´ve invested a lot of hours to build up a big part of a map. This was a 98% copy from google-maps. All points on the map are "reference points" and the same points have been transferred to a google-map. With a transparent windows-mode you can overlay both windows and built up the map. old version: http://glass2k.softonic.de/universaldownloader-launch The results are amazing - I think, but take a look ,self if you can I attached a picture. On the map in the east you can see a industrial town. I want to have the name of this small town. Hints: 1.The city is located southwest of the great city that gave the map its name 2.The Lake in the west is new (1980) and a cooling pond of a nuclear powerplant that is not the smallest in europe. ,ups 3. map is in europe 4.important railroad crossway in the near of a border 5. surrounding area was the place of a great and hard conflict some years ago The first 3 people who send me a pm with the the right name of this town are getting a link from me with the latest version of this map. good luck ! manteuffel
Congratulation to Gary Owen he entered the 2nd place in this riddle. Last hints: 1.) 240 Mio. years ago (+/- 80 Mio) a meteorit crashed in the west of the map. This big whole has a size than more as 6000 m 2.) The summer of 1943 was very very hot in this area..... :diable: 3.) Its not Tschernobyl (no hgt available) I think this hints are enough, if you cant find it out ask your grandpa

Alicatt
It looks like they had a standard design for the nuclear plant construction. The plant at Tschernobyl and at Kursk are very simillar in lay out although in a diffrent orientation.
